HOw We’ll SOLVE PROBLEMS TOGETHER
We’ll take the most rewarding route to arrive at ideas that solve your challenges creatively. Whether we use one of the paths described below, or come up with a new one altogether, the journey will be a gratifying one.
Accountability Partnering
When you’re trying to free an idea into the world, it might take more motivation than you’re able to muster. Finding an “accountability partner” has always been helpful: Tell someone you’re [doing the thing]. When they ask how [the thing] is going, you have to tell them about your progress. This works far better than making promises to yourself — then feeling guilty for not fulfilling them.
As any adult knows, kids are bursting with questions because they literally see the world through fresh eyes. They don’t just ask what everything is, but why everything is. When we start being kid-like again and asking more questions of the world and ourselves, we can find inspiration in new places. This strategy is especially helpful when developing (or rediscovering) our creative powers.
JUST KIDDING
We’ve all experienced just how ineffective brainstorming can be at motivating individuals or groups. The brain obsesses and over-evaluates, ending up paralyzed (especially in group settings). It’s time to go with your gut.
Gutstorming is a more intuitive strategy that helps people decide with clarity — and immediacy — which ideas should rise to the top. The gut is often “smarter” as it resides at the center of many physiological and decision-making forces. With Gutstorming, groups and individuals can move towards more fruitful ideas, faster.
GUtstorming
We often get stuck in the same thought patterns; that’s because individuals, businesses, and organizations tend to take the same pathways. Think of it like sledding down a hill on fresh snow — the first run you make is likely the run that you’ll take every time (because you’ve carved this pathway before). These “shortcuts” are often helpful; but when it comes to ideation, they’re the opposite.
Establishing new pathways is key to coming up with fresh creative ideas. We’ll work with you to form new pathways that will get you to a new and desired result.
ProductivE Pathfinding
As individuals, orgs, and companies, we live in the past on a daily basis. Whether we continue to act on long-held beliefs (that aren’t serving us), or rely on standard operating procedures (that limit our potential). When we “actively forget” these unhelpful histories, we can create a more positive and productive present.
Tactical FORGETTING
Whether it’s a nonprofit or business, you and your teams view the world from the inside out. That view from inside can be spectacular; but it’s one that you’re used to.
With FTI’s outside perspective, we provide a wide new view of the challenges you face; thus helping to create not-seen-before, effective solutions.
VIEWSHIFTING
Finding focus and flow is harder than ever with all the distractions available to us. So this is a freebie strategy that many know about, but may not be using to maximum effect.
It is our firm belief that people are capable of multiple flow-state sprints per day. By using this tweaked “Tomato Timer” to focus, you can sprint your way into new idea territory — effectively tapping into your creativity to solve problems.
